What cars/vans/lorries came with charge coolers as standard so that I may be able to get a cheap one from a scrappy? An intercooler isn't going to be practical for the application.
The ST205 had one IIRC did MR2s?
nope stupidly MR2's didn't they had an intercooler which is weird because the ST205 woulda been better being front engined to have an intercooler and the MR2 would have been better to have a chargecooler.
trouble with the ST205 ones is there pretty sort after in the MR2 world so you're looking at £300 ish for the main bit and more for the pipes and stuff. they work well though, mates MR2 is running ok with the ST205 chargecooler at over 300bhp, well even better now with his MoTec M4 ECU with anti lag :)
ST165 had a chargecooler too. Slightly smaller than that on a 205. St185 Carlos Sainz (or the RC import equivalent) used a slightly different shape, but similar sized one to the 205.
