I quite fancy the idea of making my spot(fog)lights (on a Ti) deep purple (cue smoke on the water air guitar) in colour.
Local MDC doesn't have any coloured bulbs or lens covers, or whatever other means of achieving this end. Anyone know any good suppliers?
I also checked my Rover manual, but can't find anything that says what wattage and type of bulbs go in the spots. Any ideas?

The motor factors down the road has headlamp paint on their little rack of Kev exhausts and cone filters. I was looking whilst they mixed me some paint, honest :P.
My interior bulbs are purple cos someone gave me a pair :)
There was a website that mentioned using glass paint for bulbs, but it said don't use them on halogen as it'd get burnt off straight away. MDC had some paints too but that wasn't for use on halogens either. Can't seem to find any coloured bulbs either.. sure, I saw someone with orange spots once.

Could swap them back over to white at MoT time anyway.

If fitted, front foglights are part of the MOT, i.e. they have to work and comply with vehicle lighting regulations.
If not fitted, they are not subject to MOT testing since they aren't compulsory.

Only rear fog light(s) are part of the MOT, and only then if it's a post '93 car.
You're right in that, if fitted, front fogs *are* subject to set height and distance requirements in accordance with the VLR, and you can be /advised/ of this by an MOT testing station, but you still cannot directly fail on such a thing as it's not a testable item under current regulations.
You'll be telling us they have to test the spare tyre if that's in the boot next :)
Don't worry - I've passed a few MOTs with broken front fogs in the past :)
