Plenty of people do it so it's possible.
I think it'd be more fun overall to put a 2 litre engine in a Peugeot
106 though.
Suspensions needs uprating to handle the extra weight (uprated dampers with harder standard height springs) as do the brakes(possibly even bigger master cylinder and servo) with larger calipers on bigger discs and maybe even bigger wheels to clear the calipers. Brake bias may need to be adjusted to adapt to the change in weight ditribution and power to weight.
At a minimum I would suggest upper and lower strut braces for the front and a rear strut brace across the turrets, maybe even bracing gussets welding into or arround the strut towers at the front and a roll cage to stiffen and tie in the shell.
Or just bung it in, crash it at the first bend and claim on your insurance, forgetting that you didn't inform them of the engine capacity increase because you couldn't afford the insurance. Then at a minimum face a huge bill for the premium increase so they can provide basic 3rd party cover for other property you damage, or at worst get points for no insurance.
Your choice, and both will take time and lots of money, because after the crash you will spend the next 10 years paying Ferrari premiums for a
2CV
Or even worse, crash it into a pedestrian and be sued for injuries / loss of life, possibly resulting in you losing your home.
True, very true. But the minimum 3rd party cover would still cater for that, just the insurance would screw you over worse and take legal action to recover their losses, as well as the difference in premium and load you to hell and back if they decide they fancy a nice fat renewal.
Good plan- there have been plenty of instances of non modded shells with a bigger engine transplant of the front chassis rails cracking and pulling away from the rest of the car, which obviously first of all doesnt make the car handle very well [1] and secondly safe!
Very common on the Nova too.
Tim.. [1] I use the term "handle" in the broadest sence of the word when using "Corsa" in the same sentance.
