Absolutely. You may just have to sit and watch, though. I hear Ken's mummy doesn't take much to do with him anymore :-(

MS Squirt? Em, are we talking about the same product here? I thought it was MegaSquirt? AFAIK Microsoft don't make any sort of liquid release mechanisms.

MegaSquirt is an ECU, which deals with engine management. No bolts here, just wires. You clueless f****it.

I've seen it in action, actually. It runs a 1.4 Turbo K-Series engine rather well, and provides excellent launch control to stop the wheels lighting up on a 600KGs Mini on launch.

Your ravings suggest that you have tried and failed to build a MSquirt, or paid too much for a ready built one and didn't have the intelligence to set it up (sounds just like your welding/bodging business adventure!). This is the only explanation for you having the temerity to state as "fact" that MSquirt "doesn't work."

Ken, sorry Chris, I've asking for your details. I'm even offering mine. Absorb this: I'm happy to take this away from the keyboard. Just let me know and we'll hook up.

Read my previous post. I don't mod my car, it's not mine to mod.

I would love to see you tune an engine just using power and torque measured at the wheels. Your engines wouldn't get out of the rolling road bay in one piece. You have absolutely no idea what you are spouting about. Christ, I wouldn't trust you with a Mamod steam engine.

As for using "computors" (sic); do you really think "accurate fuel/ignition maps" can be calculated by hand? A rolling road dyno at best can be used to compare power and torque curves on the same car. They are too inaccurate to even trust comparisons between two similar cars. The actual tuning is done by measuring (amongst other parameters, but NOT rear wheel torque) EGO, EGT and knock, and using them as feedback. It's just convenient for those who have a rolling road dyno leftover from the old days to keep using it, rather than taking the tuning computEr out in the car for a drive under real conditions.

Following your dim logic, aircraft wouldn't need flight testing before certification - they would be perfect right out of the wind tunnel! Oh and please DO start a discussion about models versus full size aerodynamics if you dare.

You really are clutching at straws now and sinking fast. Please leave technical discussions to those who actually know what is going on. The art of trolling lies in starting a row and getting out unscathed. You are failing spectacularly!

You say that, yet he has you and others biting in earnest.

If you read one of my other "bites" you will note that I believe the art of trolling is in getting "all you f*****ts" going at each other and watching it go. Oh wait a minute, looks like he has succeeded in getting one f****it going at another!

I happen to enjoy a bit of a usenet row now and then, it's just that ken is not very good at it, or he just enjoys making a dick of himself I guess. I was really hoping he might raise his game. If I wanted to discuss interesting things on the web, I would not use this playground.

MAP pressure is Manifold Absolute Pressure. It is a resding read by a sensor. It varies according to what it reads. Atmospheric pressure is approx 14PSI or 1bar. You can have +1bar readings using a ram type inductions where forward motion forces air into the intake system. The standard method is using forced induction though if you wish to have much greater.

A 2 bar map sensor will be fine on a non turbo or normally aspirated engine. A 3 or 4 bar sensor will be needed for a forced induction engine running the kind of boost required for average street use, whether standard or modified.

I appologise for any sluring or spelling errors as I was drunk when I posted this.

Is that a special operating system sub XP for failed welders from Eastleigh?

I was drunk when I read it. That's us evens.

So you post here merely to troll the regulars?

k

If this device did actually work there doesnt seem any reason for the manufacturer to put before and after dyno printouts on his/her web site..................oh wait a minute, he/she doesnt have a dyno.................lol

k

Exactly right................there doesnt seem to be any need to use anything in depth, as most on here dont even seem to be able to Google with any degree of success!

k

From reading the utter s**te both of you post, I would think you must be pissed for much of the time you are posting here.

k

If I am quite wrong in thinking that the accurate measurement of torque/power, is in fact a primary requirement in relation to development of an engine, then perhaps you would be good enough to tell everyone what is?

k

Never failed to hold down a job, and unlike you, have never relied on state handouts.................lol

k

Its amusing that when a clueless f****it loses an argument (rather miserably in this case!), there always seems to be threats issued.

When it comes down to it though anyone who issues threats on here, always has a yellow streak a mile wide, and issuing the said threats makes them look even more foolish!

k

If you dont own a car, then WTF do you post here? Trolling?...............not very good at it are you?................

k

Now you are "Elder" WTF dont you grow up and start behaving like an adult rather than an idiot 18yr old chav?
