Hello,
I had to replace the window riser mechanism in my car today, and to get at the guts of the door, I had to hack through the plastic membrane thing behind the door card. What purpose does this serve - can I safely remove it? It has holes in it where the loudspeaker, door latch cable and lock button come through, so I assume it isn't any sort of vapour-proof barrier. I taped the thing back up with heavy- duty sellotape, but I think I may need to go rooting around in there again soon, and if so I'd rather just get rid of the plastic unless there is a really good reason for it being there.
So, anyone know if I can remove it with no ill-effects?
Thanks,
RM.
