but then they wouldn't be able to tell you off for driving about with no tax would they and how would you make sure everyone would be insured all the time? (before you go all figures on me, this is supposed to be sarcasm :) )

Right, well all they need to do is...

put the tax on the fuel have everyone do what they do with the non tax paying vehicles at the moment you still need to do the whole show and tell at the post office, but you don't pay to have a little sicker in the window in place of the tax disc do you :)
