Hi all, does anyone know where to get petrol efi injectors tested properly in the Portsmouth area on the south coast, is it better to get them tested or just get new ones ?

No point getting new ones if there's nothing wrong with the ones you have. What makes you think there's something wrong with them?
That sounds like an opportunity to post my injector testing photo again...

That looks like fun.
The fuel system was in bits. It would have been rude not to wouldn't it?

Hehehe, reminds me lighting the gas taps in science labs at school :)
Well I don't know that's why I was asking ? don't they wear out like the diesel ones? Rich

Great pic of the fire ball what sort of voltage do the injectors use to operate and are they all the same ? But where can I get the injectors tested or don't they go wrong ?

So there's nothing wrong with the way the car's running but you just chose the injectors at random for a part to get tested? If it's running fine just leave them alone.
Some, like the ones in the picture, are "high impedance". They measure about 10-16 ohms and they can be driven with a direct 12V signal. There are also "low impedance" ones - usually less than 3 ohms. Those need a lower drive voltage to avoid over-heating, but the ECU often gives them a short burst of the full 12V so they snap open really quickly. Along with the electrical differences, there's loads of different mechanical styles.
As others have said, they're very reliable. There's no reason to test them unless you have some specific reason to think they're knackered.
Cheers,
Colin.
