Underpowered, economical, totally maintainable at home without any need for a garage other than MOT, similar spec interior in a 10 year old Favorit compared to a 20 year old Saab.
Yes the performance will be down, but I rarely get to reach the limits of the roads on my daily commutes, let alone my limits. The cars limits are some way off in the distance. For the sort of day to day driving I do, even the handling is comparable, with less body roll on a standard Favorit compared to my Saab.
With my old Skodas, and their magnificent fuel economy, if I ever got pissed off, I could just take off, and go blast for a couple of hours,a nd not worry about the cost. Now with the Saab, I have a much better drivers car, but one that I get worried about driving in, constantly checking the fuel gauge to see how much I've used never completley managing to "get away from it" completly.
