Central Locking Skoda Favorit

The HBOL says that if the central locking fails completely then it's the 15A fuse or the master control unit. This unit is fitted "Behind the facia panel, near the fusebox". Helpful. No pictures either.

The fuse, probably inline at a guess, is between a 12v supply and the control unit which should have six connections coloured black, red (12v/fuse wire), white, brown, yellow, and blue.

If you can identify the control unit from the above colours you might be able to trace the red wire back and find the fuse.

The central locking can also be operated by the passenger door, but not the rear doors. Have you tried that?

Thanks for the suggestion. I have taken the dash apart and found the central locking unit. It i under the speedo, there is a bracket on the steering column which ha the immobiliser attached on the top and the central locking unit on th bottom. I can trace the wires on the right hand side right along to the door but on the left hand side the wires which includes the red are taped u into a loom which disappears under the dash towards the engin compartment. There is no sign of any fuse near the unit. I unplugge the plug on the unit where the wires go in and testing the wires ther does not seem to be any current getting to the unit - so I am hopefu that the unit is O.K. However if anyone could tell me where the fuse i I would be really grateful. Thank

Have you checked fuse 1 in the fuseboard? The manual says it's 15A, which is what you're looking for, and that it's "not assigned". If there is a 15A fuse in socket 1 that could be your chappy.
