Mine was my Siemens S25 and my Vaio Celeron laptop over infra red. Not pocket, but cheaper than paying hotel calls to check email and even do a bit of usenet on the few occasions I was on work trips back then.

There might have been one. I know it was incredible that it could use Midi sound files for ringtones and 4 colour pictures for the display.

I made myself a skoda logo for it, and also at one point, Tux the penguin.

Nerd ;) It's funny how that stuff was dead geeky ages ago but it's the norm now. I had an Orange Nokia 702 and it had some strange way of programming ringtones, it was the first phone to do it IIRC. I had some dodgy tone, The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Of course I was a nerd for figuring out how to do my own ringtone and now there is a whole industry around it.

And texting... Back in 1996 on Orange you paid £2 a month and could unlimited text, to other networks too if you used a FSMC. I remember texting my wife (then GF) to come and pick me up from a nightclub, all my mates thought that was nerdy. Then someone decided there was money to be made and suddenly even my mother is texting me.

Same with everything I guess...

You know, from being with Voda through CPW, then being sold the Martin=20 Dawes, then being a Voda customer with O2 (they bought Martin Dawes),=20 then moving to Orange after 4 years, then being an Orange customer for 3=20 years, I didn't get any text allowance at all on the contracts I was on=20 until I moved back to Voda. Now I get 250 a month, but I'm so used to=20 not sending texts because they cost that I normally email or tweet=20 because I get unlimited internet.
