Integrale boost

Feckin integrale is annoyin me.

Whats standard boost and whats the figure for its overboost.

Mine seems to run close to 1.2 bar which i think is too much

You'd be surprised. The Lancias run stupidly high boost as standard.

1.25 bar for overboost is about right I think. The internals are super daddy strong on those engines as the production units are detuned race engines (I've the book about tuning the engines by Guy Croft) it's just the fuelling you need to watch out for really, to make sure it doesn't lean out. When I think my Rover runs the same power from such little boost...

Lancia is agriculturally good :)

The standard boost guage goes up to 1.2 bar so i assumed it should be less than that

I'm fairly sure the overboost should only be 1 bar, not sure about normal boost. ASFAIK a standard ECU should cut the ignition if boost goes over 1 bar. Try having a search on th Evocorner forum, there's lots of useful information and people there.

If that's the case it'd happen daily on my mate's Thema, his HF and my old Dedra. My dedra has a problem when I got it where it'd boost off the clock and there was no cutoff.

The boost guage's 1.2 bar limit is probably there to discourage you!! It's bloody crap for accuracy anyway...

In news:V0qGe.3129$ snipped-for-privacy@news.indigo.ie, Chet decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows

Standard I /think/ is around 12 psi, overboost is about 15 psi.

Does the overboost light come on when you floor it in a high gear?

Does it pink, ever? [1]

Does it misfire at high boost?

I've only ever known one Integrale which had a working overboost system, and that belonged to Miki Biasion.

[1] If so, it's either boosting too much, or someone's fitted a Seicento engine

Theres an overboost light?

My I.E. light is on most of the time. I've a green light with no picture on it too sometimes. I need a feckin manual for this car.

Nope, not yet anyway...

It did until i changed the plugs and its 100% now. There was one odd plug in it before.

How is the overboost controlled, do you you know?

I'm have to check that out :)

There is, but I can't remember what it looks like..

Cool!

If it misfires, back off, if not, don't worry...

It's a mad system, I think it's a Saab bit of gadgetry. (The Delta was a Saab 600 in some mad countries)

Get your dad to.

Looking at an online manual i think it seems only the evo's have it. Mines a non evo 16v

My green light appears to me an "all systems operative" light - cool :)

F*ck, I gotta get me one of those :)

Even though its only on 'sometimes' :) ?

Gotta be worth at least 20bhp if fitted to a Corsa / Nova...

Tim..

My old 8v had one (that didn't work, naturally), and the 16v also had a non-functioning one, but that flashed occasionally.

Seems to be that if they've been chipperised, the lumens no longer get ill.
