Looks like I'll be at Lydden Hill tomorrow afternoon

LSD is in the car, braided hoses and uprated rear pads going in this afternoon. Oh, and some brackets have been added to the bottom of the intercooler so it's actually properly fixed in place instead of blowing in the wind.

Guess I'll find out if it is any good as a track car tomorrow afternoon...

Oh, JackH - if you're reading this. Any horror stories about a place called Crossroads Motors over in Challock? They have something that might be a suitable replacement if the Roadster doesn't work out.

I'll see you down there then I expect, as I'm heading down in the afternoon to take some pics etc.

They sold my old man a van that ended up being a bit of an overpriced problematic heap, a few years back.

Not really heard anything specifically bad about them but their stock has always appeared to be well overpriced to me when I've had a nose round their sites both in Challock and Chilham.

Ah yes... a perfect example I can identify with.

They currently have an R plate Passat TDi SE 110 on there for £2895.

Hahahaha... they're having a giraffe.

Hmmm... if you're looking at what I think you're looking at, I'd suggest either of these would be a better financial bet given their respective ages and mileages as long as they check out ok HPi wise etc:

OK, sounds good.

Sounds like a recommendation then :)

Oh, I wasn't suggesting that I would pay what they were asking for the car...

I think sir might want to look at cheap cars from brands starting with 'P' instead :).

Oh!

No idea if that's worth that or not, really.

Tis the urban 'van engined' legend one, is it not?

A little less unless they can *prove* the mileage (they only have a 5 digit odometer).

No, it's a 2.5l Porker engined one. The extra torque comes in handy, plus it's got a little extra power.
