no ones mentioned the F1?

i quite liked this weekends race, few incidents keeping it exciting, it's probably the first time i've sat through the race from start to finish! normally i watch the start then i'm in and out catching little bits then sit down for the last 20mins but this sundays race was worth watching. loved the night racing!

didn't look the easiest circuit either with all them bumps and those closed in walls making some bends a little difficult

Meh, the circuit's a bit s**te, there was sod all overtaking oppertunities, and the one there was, was a really bumpy bit of road making it even more difficult! The fact it was night didn't make an difference at all, except the cars looked cool with the light reflections whipping along them as they went along. Ferrari are doing their hardest to throw away the championship for themselves and Massa heh! Despite the FIA trying their hardest of course for them ;-) They were just lucky McLaren and Lewis only took 6 points home really.

Despite all the s**te talked about Alonso last year I was actually really glad to see him win, it was like poetic justice as he was so screwed over by a silly little problem in qualifying that knocked him at least 10 places down the grid, and he drove really exceptionally to get back from it. It was nice to see Rosberg getting something good for Williams as well, as I always get the feeling he's faster than the car will let him show. And good to see good old DC grab a couple of points as well, despite having no brakes for about 30 minutes heh!

Another good showing from Vettel as well - seems such a shame he's being forced into the Red Bull next year, he seems bound to be a champion when given a decent car. I bet McLaren are looking at Kovalainen losing them points every race and thinking along with the rest of the world, why on earth did they renew his contract. If they had the oppertunity to trade him for Vettel right now, I bet they'd be awfully tempted, but I suspect the team wouldn't work very well with someone capable of beating Lewis again, as his ego has got quite massive now, and although Vettel wouldn't be matching him for arrogance like Alonso did, I'm sure it wouldn't take long before it became quite an icy place to be. Really he needs to get a drive in a decent car, alongside someone fast but reserved like Kubica/Heidfeld/Trulli or even Raikonnen, as you can just tell he doesn't care what other people are doing, he turns up to do the job he's paid for, to win races, and isn't bothered what is happening at the other side of the garage. Shame he seems to have got totally dis-illusioned this year now, he's really had the wind taken out of his sails by that string of poor showings knocking him out of convention.

What would be good would be if there was say, five, about even, top teams - like Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, Williams and BMW. Alonso driving for 1, Hamilton for another, Raikonnen for another and say Vettel for another and Massa for the last. Despite people saying Massa is crap, yet the same people say Kimi is the most naturally talented driver out there, Massa has continually out performed him this year, and out performed him quite a few times last year! But yea, that would make an excellent fight each race :-)

Although actually having said that, I'd rate Kubica and Heidfeld as top drivers as well, and I reckon given a shot Sutil might not be that crap you know... He's shown some impressive speed when the rain has evened up the gaps between the cars. All three of those definately have the measure of Kovalainen and Piquet, who neither frankly deserve their drives. Nakajima has well, he's shown the odd fast lap, but Rosberg has sounded had the measure of him this year. Webber is another iffy one too, he's like Trulli, brilliant at one lap in qualifying but then no good at racing. Coulthard is the opposite of Webber, buggers up the qualy, but is a much better racer heh!
