On that bit, no.
But, as I said, Ford usually have to get someone else to design their engines for them....
Oh, you're claiming that was *eating*, are you?
;-)
So, after all that, is the 'good' 2.2TDCi the old Ford one or the newer PSA one?
Does it matter - a good engine can't rescue a s**te car ;-)
I know, I had a '75, remember?
I do like *torque* though. Possibly enough even to get a diseasel when the time comes...
They're actually quite fun when you get into the way of driving them. Very different, not the same kind of fun as a petrol, but the instant rush of torque when you floor the loud pedal has a certain something.
It's just that I'd want my diesel engine wrapped in a decent car - having been lumbered with a MkIII Mondeo a couple of times when I've rented a car, I really can't see why they were hyped up so much.
No. It's barely audible. First one I test drove, the wife thought it was a petrol.
At least I own mine.
See the 156, 75, VFR and Hongdou......
So far, only the Ford 2.2 has appeared in Ford vehicles. The only use of the PSA 2.2 outside of PSA at the moment is in the Freelander.
Yeah. You own the bargain bangers :-p (bikes excluded cos I don't have one). The lowest value car in our house (M reg Mitsi FTO) commands twice as much as half the available 156's on Autotrader.
Oh, and your website appears inaccessible at the mo - I was gonna check the year of the 156 - although that may be Krapoo.
Conor - don't start pissing contests over this - 'I can afford an 04 Mondeo diesel' is hardly something to shout about.
In fact, I'm sure I've spunked more money on the 75 in the last few years than the Mondeo would have cost to buy.
Just as I have on the Capri...
Now now children. My car cost about as much as your fleets put together ;-)
Amazing what the bank of mum and dad can do these days ;-)
Wouldn't know ;-)
Twice as much as half the available 156s on Autotrader? As in the sum of them? :-P
Peter
Just as I'm probably going to avoid doing to the Xantia - developed a fair old loss of LHM, and although replacing a simple pipe has solved the major part of that leak, my local friendly Citroen specialist tells me that the hydraulic ram and another similarly expensive part (both around 280 quid or so, and only available from main dealers) are also leaking. Labour won't be too bad on them though - only a couple of hours all in all to fit them, but it's still best part of 800 quid to spend.....
Peter
Well, some of them had a full tank of petrol...
Ouch. I've put the brakes on spending with the Capri when I bought a chrome bonnet latch and realised how sad it was.
