OT I think I'm becoming Dervman

Driving back up the motorways today in the sun being overtaken by a couple of convertibles with the hoods down rather than thinking. "That looks nice I should take one of ours out when I get home" I was thinking "Do they know how bad that is for there fuel consumption".

Barely! You'd have to spit on foul-driving, shoddily built VAG products first.* :-p

*not that all VAG stuff is as described...

It's just not been difficult over the last few years...

In December I had a nearly new Polo for a week. 1.4 thingie. 3,000 miles. Appalling drive-by-wire. Cassette player. Semi-automatic air conditioning. Dashboard rattle. A dashboard rattle!

The folks' Passat has broken down three times, all daft things too, has a jerky automatic transmission, suffers from a rattle in the dashboard between

43 and 55 mph and the rear heatrests vibrate too.

Neither of these have been anything like close to a good drive on a twisty road, which makes it up for many people.

Thank goodness for the newer Golf and Passat. Lets hope VW do to the range what Ford did to theirs ten years ago.

:-p

That's nothing, I only got an average speed of 57mph on the way back from Lincoln today, and I acheived a very homesexual 46mpg! I was ashamed of myself.
