dont have much in the way of detail as of yet , but been offered a 1.9 Diesel lump and want to use the crank in an Mi16 i have.

From memory it should work , but it dont have anything written down anymore.

The stroke on the XUD 7 and XUD 9 (thats 1.7 and 1.9 Diesel XU engines to you and me) is 88mm according to my Haynes PSA diesel engine BOL.

Hope that helps.

Yes, thanks Douglas,

I was certain about all the XU petrol lumps, it follows that the Diesel ones would be the same but use different pistons for the extra compression :D

Well now I've managed to find a crank that fits I need to decide, The 205 is such a fun car, especially with the Mi, it's not overpowered like the nova, which used to writhe and squirm all over the tarmac but is still fast enough for good fun on the road or track.

having said that , those of you who remember me will know im a turbo nut, and im kinda tempted to go down that route.

for now, you'll have to wait n see :D

oh and for any of you who run into the same problem , a potential fix is to use the diesel oversized shells @ 0.5 mm but you need to remove the locating tabs which aren't on the Mi block

cheers
