No, I had to drive around them; I didn't 'nearly crash into someone' in that the car was out of control - merely that the daft idiot had decided to stop at the roundabout and then not move. Regardless, the Scorpio's weight and ABS which I assure you didn't apply any braking force to speak of - the wheels were locking instantly - prevented the usual tactic of slamming the brakes on and letting the snow build up in front of the wheels.
Had I hit 'em at 15mph, I'd have a cracked bumper probably, but legally it would be my fault, even though they'd apparently fallen asleep at a roundabout. It was clear enough to go around them sideways without risking hitting any oncoming cars!
And like I said, the traction control relies upon the same system; with small throttle openings, it still sensed slip and refused to let the car move. Booting it just made it more determined.
