Picking the MR2 turbo up next weekend if things go to plan! and off to santa pod sunday too! can't wait been waiting since august 15th for this car and i'm so excited!!!
anyone want the Mk1? come on it's a classic! will go on for another 2 years with normal servicing if no one can be arsed to sort the lil things out hehe

I'm still very tempted by the lil thing. How much tax/MoT has it got? Got any photos?
tax and MOT till april/may 2005 IIRC plus sills were done on last MOT so that won't need doing for ages.
will take some fresh photo's soon of it anyway so will post up them up as soon as there done, might make a small web page of all the details on it during the week. would love to keep it myself as it's such a damn good drive!

twin entry though and would shoot off the line faster than your cossie which would catch it up further down the quater probably :)
But, he has 2 turbo's, and 4wd, and 2.9 litres of engine, are you sure you'd launch quicker :) ?

I dont know why but you cant hear my turbo at all, you get a slight whurr but no real spooling sound :(
I have a little video of the new un excuse the s**te music it was radio, also you can see the full effect of the Xenon's, which you may be getting soon hehe

Yeah, the Celica is the same. The Saab had a really nice whistle spool up, that sounded fantastic bouncing off walls down tight roads. the Celica just has more of a revvy engine with a roar, rather than the Saabs sewing machien engine with a spool up whistle. I think I prefered the spoolup whistle.
What Turbo has yours got Carl, is it a Garret T03 or T04? Mines a T03 and there is no sound at all, but you can certainly feel it when it cuts in, I do need a boost guage though.
Er, you're not supposed to be able to hear it !
If it makes a whistle, then it's cos the bearings are shafted, or you've removed the factory sound-deadening !
On a modern car, Turbos don't make noise unless they're broken :)
T25 here. Basically everything is T25 or T30 these days - T40 is *huge* :)
The Saab had a T3. The Celica is listed as a Toyota CT26 twin entry turbo, a lot smaller than the T3, so a lot less lag.
How's about buying it "For the missus", but making sure you are insured=20 in it too.
Girls love MK1 MR2's, and surely she would only need it during the day?

Well she's said she's happy to put some money towards it now, although when i said it was gold she was a little reluctant to be seen in it :)
