haha, no, not really.

I want to see Tornado on the main line because I've never seen a steam loco at speed, on the preserved lines they are restricted to 20mph (IIRC).

I do like to see a big freight rumble by while I'm at work but I don't take numbers :-)

I work at an airport. Spotters seem to come from all walks of life and people I never suspected turn out to be them.

A surprising number of them used to, or still do, spot trains.

I just like the machines.

I liked some of the camera work on the Evora feature.

I'm still not convinced you can tempt someone who would have bought a Boxster into one though.

Round here, I think a lot of people who would have normally bought a Porsche have bought Aston Martins.

Can't see the point of those back seats. I don't know why manufacturers bother with stuff like that. They should have missed them out completely and put a V8 in there instead IMHO.

Bus spotters are very easy to spot. They'll be in the beige short shorts, long white socks and sandals. Picking them out then getting them escorted off the site is a favourite past time in the office :)

If spotters get somewhere they shouldn't at the airport, you can report them and people with guns come.

You too huh? I used to work in an office close to the fence and in the run up to airshow week I had the security office on my hot dial list. Despite the socking big signs pointing out dire penalities for photography they would turn up with 2 metre focal length lenses and start snapping away at anything with wings.

Quite right too, though I reckon those up to no good don't usually turn up with 2m telephoto lenses.
