All french. And all the better for it. PSA have been making good dervs for donkeys years, whreas Ford have been doing it for, well, since PSA started making them for them. :-)
I dunno much about the tddi engines - are they throttle cable or D-By-W? Surely there must be an aftermarket cruise kit available?
The 944.

Amen brother - if you're s**te enough to pay a Frenchman do to stuff for you, well...
406.
Don't forget the 'Pinky-cento'.
It uses a stiffer suspension set up...
For a one month warranty that excludes almost everything apart from the donk...?
What's better than those two? Hmmmm? Being beaten savagely with an iron bar?

BMW 535d. 0-60=6.0s, 0-100=15.0s.
Faster than Audi TT 3.2, Bentley Cont. R, Focus RS, Porsche Boxster 2.7, Golf R32, Volvo S60R, Jag 4.0 XK on both accounts.
Hmmm.... slow?
Justin.
But using that as an argument, a random cars sample, an Enzo is faster and it's petrol :)
Besides, i don't want this argument again, i was really drunk when i posted :D
The DI's are both dreadfully noisy and rattly. Period.
If a Ci is out of the running get a 1.6 or 1.8 Petrol Focus and spend what you save on purchase price on alitle more fuel.
Tim..
Faster than the conti R?
Also bear in mind it's got a bigger engine than the TT / Focus / Boxster / Golf and they're not turbocharged.

Ya we rediscovered the TDDi Focus today...
Do any 1.6 or 1.8 Focii come with cruise?
A non septic wife and a decent car...
I would refer you to my ass.
And to think I thought I was killfiled :).
3.2 TT doesn't :-)
Over the 0 to 60 and 100 increment, yes...
Who said I was comparing 'like for like' ;-) The TT and Focus RS definitely have turbo's...?
Justin.
Nope, only the 2.0l ghia afaik.
Retrofit is possible on 1.6 and 1.8 (usually easier on 1.8 as the TB has the bracket aready), by using a retrofit kit from the US, but different cars have different bits of loom in them and some are easier than others. Generaly the 1.6 is the sweeter engine and is more economical, the 1.8 is more durable and tunable but is thirstier.
