They've been working on these for /aaaaaaages/ - you don't read many car mags do you? ;-)
Maybe MG should take a page from Renault and fit one to the ZR mid engine rear drive but make it look like any other ZR from the outside. (Better yet stick a turbo on it as well.)
Rear wheel drive as well.
You're a bit behind the times tho, it was announced in mid 2001 and supposed to be on sale by the middle of 2002 (making it 15 months overdue so far).
