Hi all,
When I signal a right turn and go the signal lever gets 'caught' when the steering wheel spins back to its origin and I am left with the left signal flashing when the right turn is completed.
Is this an easy fix I can do on my own or should I go to the mechanic?

Sounds like the canceling cam is the problem. You can get a repair kit from most aftermarket Mustang suppliers. I got mine from "The Padock" in Knightstown Indiana.
You will have to pull the steering wheel, and the cam is right there on top. There also is a spring clip on the back of the wheel that pushes the cam back to center, it might have slipped.
Hi Fred, Do you have an original steering wheel? some aftermarket wheels use pins that can destroy the switch. If you can pull the steering wheel yourself you may be able to figure out whats wrong. Otherwise bring it to a mechanic that's familiar with working on old cars. It may be you need to buy a new switch. Don't go cheap on this as reproduction swithces never tend to work properly. Buy a FORD switch. I don't recomment the repair kits eather.
