68 disc brake conversion question

Hi All, I'm doing a power disc conversion on a 68 coupe and had purchased the brake pedal to go with the auto trans. My question is, does the new pedal fit in the old bracket or does the braket get changed out as well. The stub on the pedal for the rod from the booster isn't at the right height, it is too low.
