ALL RISE...Here Comes Da Judge

GM is saying they won't produce a car like this, but it makes you wonder about what GM is thinking. With sales of the current model in the toilet, maybe something like this would rev up some excitement for the GTO. What do you think?

- Is this combination of modern, with a few retro ideas tossed in, enough to make you take a second look at a new GTO?

-Or does GM need to do a Pontiac rendition of the '05 Mustang and produce a '60's GTO look-alike?

Now *THAT* is a GTO.

Hmm... that would have me second-guessing a new Mustang... if I were in the market for a car.

Personally, I like a car with some style. The first incarnation of the new GTO is a potato. I like sleeper and all, but that was just boring.

They may have gone too far with the side and front moldings... but they're on the right track.

Personally (and no offense, Mike), I don't care much for the look of the '94-98 GTs, but I love the Cobras. The *only* difference between my car and Mikes in appearance is the front bumper cover and the hood. That's it. But I think it makes the car, gives it more of an aggressive look, and that's what the GTO needed.

That's the same car that was on here a while ago.

I agree totally. If the GT's didn't have the fog lamps, it would be a huge disappointment & far too bland. I drive with my lights on a lot ;). I *love* the 94-98 Cobra look... of course, I'd take a 98 Cobra over a 94 any day (obviously.. 65 advertised HP difference). But I agree... the GTO is going in the right direction now. Looks a LOT better.

I like the look from the front, but the profile and rear are gawd-awful. And the rear is most important with that 575hp/ 6 speed

Not bad at all. A good mix viewed from the front anyway...

Ford on the other hand gives me the impression it's relying on baby boomers for their memories and money. When this fad is over, you have to wonder if and what future design this car becomes. I still believe Ford needs to continue hinting on something new with delicately suggestive styling cues from the past, and not heavy retro. I suppose I'll warm up to these new ponies sooner or later though...

RICER!!!!!!!!!!!!

They just made the current car look really good. What is with all the scoops? I can understand the hood, but the front and side ones look cheap and tacked on. J.C. Whitney at its finest.
