I've noticed an annoying problem since adding 18" rims to my '96. Sometimes when I drive into a driveway, the rear tires rub the top of the wheel well and little strips of rubber keep peeling off. I expected the width (285) to be a problem, not the height. The springs are C's and shocks Tokico premium. I did have a 1/2 coil cut from the rears some time ago. The car sits level as it is now.
I don't really want to raise the car in the rear. Are there stiffer springs that offer the same ride height as the C's that might prevent this rubbing, or would I need to replace the shocks, too?
