Clutch/Throw-Out Bearing Recommendations

yes, stock clutch is recommended by many over "performance" too you can get a non squeaking bearing type, but it wont squeak anyway for another 80,000

I've always heard/read the stock/stock-type clutches are better because of less chatter and pedal pressure. That's why I'm leaning towards a stock unit.

Know anything about the "Cobra" clutch?

I haven't heard anything bad about them for moderate hp levels. I think the pressure plate is actually easier to actuate that the stock one. The SPECs use a more modern disc material. The pad area on the clutch in my '89 LX is small considering the force it can handle.

I have an eleven inch Cobra clutch and the pedal does feel lighter than my stock ten inch clutch did. I had slippage when it was new, but 10K miles later and only get tire slippage now. ;)
