Funny Shelby experience

Looking at a mag, see the price of the new GT350, $32,500!! How?

500hp?? Oh wait, that's on top of the normal GT price!

1) Some obvious math: $32.5K =3D the price of a GT Mustang, so getting a new Shelby is twice the cost. 2) '65 Mustang standard price: $2,368 3) '65 Mustang GT price: add about $1,200-$1,500 more =3D $3,500- $3,700.. 4) '65 GT350 standard price: about $4,400-$4,500. 5) '65 GT350 S (supercharged) about 5,300

Now factor in the increased cost of current EPA and safety standards.

In 1964 90% silver coins still circulated. One dollar of 90% silver US coins has a silver melt value of $14.0767 This means the price in today's money is $33,333.63

Really makes the new mustang seem cheap for what we get.

I wasn't complaining about the price, I just got all excited due to the wording in the article making it at first glance seem like they'd actually be able to sell something like that for $32,500. I thought my Mach-1 would have a stable-mate.
