I read that Ford says the GT500 will sticker "in the low $40Gs" and they'll produce 8K-10K cars per year for three years.

Patrick, where did you get this from? If it is true then I think they just might sale around MSRP.
Car and driver has MSRP estimated at 41K and change, production figure has been in and around 9K for a while now from multiple sources. I've seen as low as 7 and as high as 10. Seems ford may have got the message.
Right now, I'll go looking once the cold starts to set in. Snow will scare the suckers out of the market.
They will sell for way more than $40K to start. But with that high of volume, they'll come down. Going to be one heck of a ride for barely $40K!
Thanks, Scott

I will probably wait until the first model year is done. I'm sure there will be several little tweaks that get made after the first year shake-down. By then all the people with more money than sense should have completed their fleecing from the dealers.

So when does it actually go on sale?
Yep. that's the concept now that the production numbers will be there. On second thought I may until the next model year as well since I don't really like any of the color options I've seen thus far.
Last I read was June or July at the latest.

So at this point, they should just about be ready to ship, as we're a week into June already. It'll be interesting to see when the first ones are spotted on the road (if they ever make it that far).
Wonder if anyone's getting one for Father's Day... ;)
Does Matchbox make a die-cast model of it yet? Hahahah!
Are you throwing out hints?

"We close by noting value is an immense part of the GT500 story. With Ford estimating a sticker 'in the low 40s', the GT500 is a desperately needed populist path to major-league performance. What's more, Ford has committed to three years of production at 8000 to 10,000 Shelbys per year. That's enough to keep dealer markups suppressed after the initial frenzy; patient enthusiasts have an excellent chance of realizing the GT500's obtainable sticker."
Seems Ford's low-production high-priced performance models left when Coletti did...

I just refuse to bend to the dealer's price gouging. Plus there are always little design tweaks between model years to iron out problems.
But of course.... That's why I'm waiting, but I'll wait longer for a color I like.
Yes, that is a benefit. However, there is also decontenting....

LOL! If only... ;)
I got my daughter a matchbox car for her 16th birthday. And a Cat. Only one letter off!
