To only restore one year mustang in a cost effective manner would require that youA: Already had the mustang in your possession&B: That it was worth restoring?&C: What level are you restoring it to?Now, with that said, the 65/66 reproduction parts are the least expensive, as they have been around for the longest amount of time...So, an early car, if you already had possession of it, would be the least expensive to restore. Heres what I got:

1969 Mach1 w/ shaker, 351W 4-speed

However, I want to change it.....

I want the body and inside to look stock, but have a full modern motor and

5-speed drivetrain (Roller cammed 351W, with EFI and modern electronics), 4 wheel disc brakes and a highway friendly rear gear. Maybe even go with a 6 speed. I'd even consider a IRS rear if it meant I didn't have to hack my original Mach body. Add some 17" Bullitt GT wheels and tires, and I'd have my perfect vechile.

I'd be satisfied with my 03 Cobra, a different drivers side head, headwork and cams, stroked, balanced, blueprinted and boosted, tubular k-member, stronger T-56 maybe a viper unit, and an indestructable IRS. :cool:
