Mustang thoughts

| so i drove the mach 1 (torch red) and a cobra coupe (screamin' yellow). | whant an impressive job Ford has done! both are beauties. when i hit | the mach 1, i nearly bust a nut in my drawers when that shaker scoop | started rumbling back and forth. then in the cobra, i got a couple more | nuts when i hit the cobra in any gear. what awesome power.

well, the deal is done. i ended up getting the (drum roll, please) torch red mach 1 (pix by the weekend). i think that'll hold me for a coupla years. honestly, i think with the cobra i would just end up in jail -- it's seemingly impossible to keep that biotch under 100mph.

i've mostly been lurking 'round these parts for a while, but expect to become a more active participant now that i am one of you. there a lot of smart folks around here and i hope to get to know y'all a bit better as i have more and more questions...

i've read lots and lots on modding, and in particular, JDs site. he seems to make a lot of sense w/r/t shoring up the frame as priority one. i have a bit of money to start thinking about mods, and i need to figure out what's applicable to my '04 mach. i think _my_ first priority, though, will be to get a short shifter installed; i already can't stand the default -- it feels like i'm shifting an old farm truck.

so here're my first modding questions:

o are there any mods to make the passenger window one touch auto rolldown from the driver's side? (and from the passenger's side for that matter.)

o are there any mods to make both windows one touch auto up?

o in the trunk the felt-like-covered-piece-of-shit particle board is already on my nerves. what are folks doing to make that a bit more sturdy and less chintzey(sp?)?

o for the short shifter, my mustang-loving friend says the steeda short shifter is all you want. period. is there anything else worth looking at? or should i just start searching the 'net for the lowest price? (i plan on doing as much of the work myself as i can -- i have a pretty good idea what my limits are.)

thanks, all...

BTW, the name here is John. i usually use fairly non-descript and anonymous accounts to post to usenet because i manage my spam better that way. so hi all.

Thanks, John. Congrats on the car -- it sounds terrific!

And you've asked a bunch of questions that I'd like answered, too. The cheap trunk material, stupid electric windows, and horrible shifter on our new (to us) 2000 convertible are all on my "short list" of things to fix, too.
