That was twelve when I posted last night. And before we lost power. Here at work, I've gotten well over 70 copies WITH the corresponding "unable to deliver" messages that go with it.

This SWEN thing is a nasty mo-fo. Impressive, but nasty.

On my website, there is a link to SpamCop. Take a look at their website and think about registering (free) and start picking some of those spams and reporting them.

I used to have a program that would sit between my ISP email server and my inbox (and worked with my AV prog) that was either free or hacked. I think I d/l'd from Kazaa. It worked great at deleting known spammers before it went to my inbox. Now, it the emailer is not in my contact list, the email gets sent straight to a "Spam" folder for later perusing. Have to make sure someone doesn't accidentally get there and deleted. Also, it is a nice way to have them all grouped together so I can sit there and report them thru the Spam Cop website.

Set your rules to "if they ain't in my contact list, delete them"?

Actually, this is all great advice even for those of us on dialup, especially people like me who stay dialed in all the time. Right now, ZA Pro has managed to block some 63,437 intrusions (11,766 high rated) since it was installed in April.

Heh- You're annoyed? I woke up this morning to 121 copies of the bastard, and in the last half-hour I've been receiving them at a rate of about 3 every 5 minutes.

Fortunately, they don't affect me since I'm using Mozilla, ZoneAlarm Pro, and McAfee VirusScan Enterprise, but at about 150 kb each, that is a *lot* of virii. (Moz downloads but doesn't auto-execute, ZA quarantines infected attachments, and McAfee cleans the quarantined file. Works really well.)

I'm prolly going to kick myself in the ass for saying this, but so far not a single copy over here.

I wish I could... Using news.cis.dfn.de, I have to use a real address.

I keep the NetZero address as the "dirty" one, anyway. This is the one I use for public posting, and this is the one that attracts all of the bugs, spam, trolls, what-have-you.

From the time I went to work this morning, until I got home, there were 110! Of course they're all accompanied by 150KB files too, which means my server space at Earthlink was maxed when I got home. My Earthlink option is to take all of my address book and put it in my online address book. Then only people in my book can email me (or get them received). What a pain in the ass!!!

I did download that AVG antivirus last night. I'm clean, as expected.

I get about one every 5 minutes right now!

So, what have you got in the works in regards to a race car???? I've been toying with an SCCA "GT1" car for awhile. Still on the fence as to whether or not to sell the new toy (FFR Cobra) and put the money in to a "track only" car, or scratch build another FFR to my own personal tastes...............

Do you use the "Delete From Server" rule in OE? It shouldn't download any messages that are marked to be deleted from the server.. I don't ever see those messages again in OE after I apply that rule.

I didn't scroll down far enough in the options to find that one. Now I have. So I'm assuming that once OE goes to download, it'll see that message and delete it at the server level... that works for me. My delete box has had about 20 of them in the last hour or so!
