The T-56 made it's first appearance in the 2000 Cobra-R. It reappeared with the advent of the 2003 Cobra and continued to be the OEM transmission for the 2004 Cobra as well.
I belive that some T-45 transmissions were made by Borg Warner and at some point between 1996 and 1998 they were branded as Tremecs. The T3650 was a Tremec as well.
Not sure about the older T5 transmissions. I am almost positive that they were Borg Warner, but I may be wrong about that as I've had zero experience with them.
You are correct sir...and IIRC, they continued to use them in the 94-95 V6 Mustangs as well.
