2002 Sentra SE-R Problem

This is one of many problems I am having with this car. Wile driving the engine just stopped, no warning just stopped running. I put the car in neutral wile the car was rolling along dead and re started the car. Then it ran OK. Last winter on a cold morning the car would not start. After trying many times to start the car, I must have run the battery's voltage down because it shut down the computer in the car. I had to have it re-programmed. I don't want to go thru this next winter. The car is only two years old. I forgot to mention that I am burning about one quart of oil between normal oil changes. Nissan has not been much help. Most of the time I leave the car off for repairs, and they can't find any thing wrong. Does anyone else have the same problems, and how did you fix them. Or did I buy a pice of crap. Should I just take a loss and sell the car. I don't trust a car that can just stop running at ant given time. I bought a new car so I wouldn't have these kinds of problems. It now has only 20,000 miles on it. Ed

Double-check that all of the recalls have been done.

Engine stop sounds like it could be the CPS.

A quart of oil every 1000 miles sounds like the precat recall hadn't been done, or if it had that the engine had already sucked precat back into the engine.

I would *definately* change dealers if they "can't find anything wrong." My dealer has been outstanding in finding and fixing problems.

I'd change dealers from whoever charged to "Reprogram" the computer.

There was a recall related to padding around the computer chip coming loose and messing it up. They just yank out the padding, and that's the fix. Have you had that done yet?

Yah Rod, I hade that done. Or they said they did it, and did nothing. Thanks for the try. I thought I bought a nice car at one time, know I think I will have to take the loss and sell it. Ed
