'87 Sentra ??

1987 Sentra Economy model with carberator; NOT injected, 160K miles

For the last three years when the weather begins to turn colder (like now) my Sentra's engine will start right up but immediately rev up to an ungodly RPM. I either have to shut her off or let the clutch out with the brake on to put a load on her (to bring the RPMs down). Most of the time that'll work but the "racing" can occur later in the drive (like at a red light).

99.9% of the time and all during warmer months it runs like a Singer sewing machine. It's a one owner and has never had any carb. work done or any other major work for that matter.

I feel like there is some temperature affected component that is not functioning properly. What do you think?
