I'd lean tward the Sentra over other cars listed.

The Chevy Cav in the past have been crappy cars that barely make it above and beyond 160,000 miles. While the 1990s were a good year for american cars, it's my belief you'll probally get more km out of a Sentra.

95 Geo Metro also a chevy product is basicly a motorcycle with a shell. I'm not sure who the OEM is on the Metro, but based on my experence, you save gas in exchange for short engine life. My prejustice on this car is based on living in the Pacific Northwest, having much in the way of hills. Anything smaller then a 1.5l engine doesn't seem to last round here.

The 93 sunbird did have a 2.0l engine, but I think it's rated at 100 or

110hp. I did test drive one come to think about it. My 1979 Toyota Corolla wagon handled better, was much faster, and made less noice dispite being in desprite need of a valve job. It was if it was a wet sponge on wheels with the added bonus of every component not screwed in. Who ever put in the steering wheel designed it perfectly to block your few of your instruments for a person of average height. Dealers never put much fuel in their cars, and this one seemed to stall round corners. I suspect it was a fuel pump location issue. GM had good cars in the 1990s but this isn't one of them. Dispite being in the market for a diffrent car, i'd rather drive a 1979 toyota wagon with 500,000+ km on the clock over a 1993 sunbird.

I think the nissan sentra engine, GA16de is rated at 120HP, though i'm vague on the details on a 1993, esp a canadian 1993. It's a 1.6 vs the 2.0l pontiac, but I believe the Nissan engine is more efficent.

The only advantage I can think of for the Pontiac is typicaly american steel doesn't rust as easily as japanese steel. This is most important when the auto becomes a garden gnome.

You can get an idea of what those other people thought of it and add that data to the other stuff...you should be able to make an educated final choice of cars. You can print out the reviews, too, and along with the other pages, put together quite a comprehensive "1993 Nissan Seantra Research Packet" for him to consider.

Well there is lots of manufacturers defects no matter what the car you drive, along with "service bulletins" and the "special policies".

Then there's the undocumented trouble that industry and back yark mechs get to know. Such as clipping the wire on the faulty TSR solenoid switch to disable it, resolving a stalling issue on my corsica.

I've owned a few Nissans and a few GM's. I'd take a Nissan with

100,000 miles on it over a GM product with 50,000 miles on it any day of the week.
