Frontier Truck & Topper Purchase

Sep 18, 2003 2 Replies

I've been thinking about buying a new Frontier or late model truck, and then later, a topper. I'm looking at no frills truck with only AC, auto, and split 60/40 seat.

My priorities are:

Reliability Economy Comfort

The truck will be used as basic transportation, no towing.

In addition, I'd like to buy a very simple topper for the new Frontier. I assume that I want something light with the ability to secure stuff inside the shell when traveling.

So, what topper brands and types are best? And how much should I expect to pay for one.

Thank you for your feedback on this! Tom Welch

I have had 0 problems with the Leer Signature series that I put on my truck on the way home from picking the truck up at the dealer. Both the truck & the cap still look like they are brand new. I had left the dealer after ordering my truck and drove to the cap dealer & ordered the cap to match the color of the truck.

That was back in 1997 and I paid close to $1,000 for the cap, then.

Ouch, $1K???? Try looking around for a used Frontier with the cap. Its a lot cheaper. You could pick one up for about $8k-$10k depending on the year.
