Mags for 01 Pathfinder

Hi,



I'm in search for a new set of mags for a 01 Pathfinder LE. Originally there are 16", but would like to move up to 17"-18", preferrably 17". Any good websites that have a good selection for mags?

The '02 LE uses 17". They should be easy to find and actually fit.

The wheels from the QX4 would fit. Otherwise, check out tirerack.com.

I'll have to look for aftermarket because the price that Nissan sells a new mag wheel is ridiculous..

If you actually use your Pathfinder as a Pathfinder (off road), you should consider a couple of things. If you do a plus-1 upgrade, you will have little cushion with 17" wheels. The 16" is a better choice. If, OTOH, you think it's a sports car and only drive on the street,

17"ers might be attractive but will still be light on bump absorption and rim protection.

If you bump both the wheel size and tire size for real off roading, you need to think about the speedo changes required.

It's only for regular street driving, but I thought 17" would give it a better look, but then again, as you said, I should also condsider pretecting my rims.

My personal preference would be plus-1 with a 17" tire for maximum performance then. Keep in mind that it's very easy to bend allow wheels unless you buy expensive forged wheels. You can easily bend

17's with a sport or sedan on a good bump, I can't imagine what a Pathfinder would do to them with its extra weight. You know those bumps you hit where you say to yourself "that was _not_ good" - those will bend alloy rims.

But, lots of people like to fill up the wheel wells with 17" wheels and larger tires that preserve the sidewall height (keeps your rims protected) while keeping handling roughly the same... maybe a little less exact. You will have to change your speedo gears or programming to whatever they do on 17" Pathfinders. You will also be increasing your wheel gearing a bit which (roughly) will give you slower acceleration but higher mileage.
