Am thinking of going to synthetic oil at next oil change of our Frontier.
Have never tried it before, as I worried it wasn't yet tried enough over time (when it started 20 years ago or so).
Please let me know if synthetic oil is good/bad in your experience.
Has it been known to do engine damage?

i'm sure you're right withinin your mindset & perspective; while this is now 2006 and there would now be something definitive/proven than infinite propaganda & claims
and, i used to have a '68 vw campmobile--ralph nader & consumer reports at the time thought/thinks they're too slow, unsafe and so forth; but i betcha today's vw vans have beat their bad reputes by now, but when i see today's I always think of my own which i traded away to a house painter & after one or two bad transmissions too many

Using Mobil 1 in my 94 max since brand new:
Recently opened the valve covers to replace the gaskets and check the VTC units: Found, no deposits at all, no visible wear on camshafts, hydraulic lifters, chain tensioners, chains or sprockets. Did replace a hydraulic chain tensioner that was losing pressure, and the cover gaskets.
