I am looking for help with my friends Nissan 200SX. The defroster and settings 1, 2 and 3 for the heater blower are not working. I checked the switches and can not locate a source of the problem (and, of course I've checked the fuses.)The relay for the defroster seems to work and I am looking for assistance with this. Anyone have a suggestion?

Likely a classic problem.
The resistors that control the fan speeds have opened. The resistor pack in most cars I've ever worked on is in the ductwork of the heater in the area above the passenger's feet. Likely there's a group of wires with a connector connected to it.
Remove it and take a look at it. Some report they've been able to repair it. I've always just bought a new one and replaced it.
