Nissan PickUp 1986 D21 auto lock shut off???

I got my auto locks system working but the locks auto lock on engine start. I'd rather turn this function off if possible.

Any suggestions?

Do like I do with my self installed auto locks. Make and keep a spare key in your wallet. :-) I've locked myself out a couple of times when working on my running truck in the driveway. I try to remember to keep a window open when doing so, but I forget, therefore the spare key at hand, rather than going into the house for the other spare. Even better when it happens away from home. You could try removing the wire that goes to the ignition source, not the battery source, but that might not unlock the doors when the ignition key is turned off.

Good ideas Bill. I do keep a hide-a-key on the truck. I once locked myself out of my car upon returning from the locksmith and having a spare key made. :-( I'll have to check into the wiring.

Thanks

Most cars with OE auto-locks lock the doors once the vehicle starts moving. I wonder if there is a fuse or power wire for some item that only works when the vehicle is moving?
