Do Nissan fuel pumps normally make alot of noise? Well, ok, not ALOT of noisey, but a clearly audiable sound when heard from inside the passanger compartment, when the engine is running?

The fuel pumps in the gas tanks of my two pathfinders were noisy.
FYI... these pumps are known to go sometimes. Mine got noisy around
100K miles. I didn't want to take the risk of it going out somewhere inconvenient so I replaced it. $200 for the pump and about 4 hours labor for a DIY job with some rigging to drop the fuel tank and reinstall it.
Not when things are working right. If the pressure regulator is stuck the pumps make lots of noise then stop. Seems like I've replaced a few pumps on those vans so maybe they have a problem?
