NissTech, help re: alarm system

NissTech, I'm hoping you can provide guidance on a problem that I can't seem to find a clear solution for. The alarm system in my 1993 Pathfinder goes off at random times, once a week or so. Is there a way to fix this?

(One note: the lock actuator is probably bad--the symptom of that is that when you slam the door in cold weather, sometimes it causes the door lock-buttons to lock all by themselves.)

Any advice is welcomed!

the locking and unlocking problem is most likely not due to a bad actuator.

the problem is within the door latch assembly, there are these little plastic pivots within the latch that break that cause the symptom you describe.

The alarm problem is probably due to a broken hood pin switch , open the hood and look on the passenger side of the firewall near the wiper motor, you should see a pin switch there, it will have only one wire going to it. if that is broken you will need a new one
