Wheres the cheapest place to get an oem alternator for an 86 hardbody pickup?

the only place to get an OEM part is from the dealership

The only good reman is at the dealer. Buy "The cheapest" and plan on replaceing them at least twice a year.

Really,I never would have thought of the dealer for OEM,I thought they only had after market parts.

figures, stupid question from

I got a Bosch alternator and it seems to be acting up. If I had to do it again, I would have gotten mine re-built. I guess I'll get my re-manufactured one re-built.

You know Dave, I've dealt with that before. I bought mine to an auto electric shop and after 8 months that one crapped out. I still don't know whether I'd buy a premium reman. from NAPA or the dealer. The unit that I need to get for my 96 Sentra is only $30 cheaper at Napa and it has a lifetime warrantee. The dealer has a 12/12. Which one is better, it's a coin toss I guess.

The dealer. I've been doing this for over 20 years and everytime I try someone else's reman, I end up replacing it over and over again for nothing. That dealer alt is going to outlast the rest of the car!
