P/S pump belt removal Sentra 2001 1.8L

Jul 30, 2007 5 Replies

I actually want to replace the alternator belt and it off the pulley.. But! The P/S belt is in front of it. I loose up the adjustor and nothing moves. So! Where is/are the other bolt(s) I'm suppose to get at? North American model, if it matters. I try to buy a Haynes manual, but in my town right now, no parts store carry this model.

Thanks

Timmy

You have to loosen the mounting nuts and bolts that hold the P/S unit to the engine, so that it can swivel and take the tension off the belt.

I tried to look around for those bolts. No success so far. It's pretty crowded on this side of the engine.

Any link with a pic you might have?

Thanks

Timmy

Nope. That's they way they all are mounted. If you can't see them up top, then you'll have to get underneath. I just changed all three belts on my 97 Nissan 4x4 PU, but the 4 cylinder engine is in-line and all the belts are in front and reachable from up top.
