Have a 1999.5 Pathfinder Limited Edition SE, and I was looking at the front, where there is an opening between the two headlights. If I reach my hands inside I can touch some foam - it looks like they are supposed to be some filter covering the radiator? These foam are all chewed up and disintegrated. Am I supposed to get those replaced? What parts are they?

I owned a 99.5 and never saw any foam.
I have an '02 and there is a 2 inch wide strip of soft porous foam glued up each side of the radiator. As near as I can tell all it does is cover the gap between the AC coils and the actual radiator on the sides. It has started peeling off from the top down on mine. I have been debating with myself whether it is worth the effort to try to paste it back on. Is this what you are talking about?
Yep that is it.
Mine is pretty worn and is coming off in bits. Should I replace it? What functional purpose does it serve?
