Power lagging

Nov 28, 2004 2 Replies

Hi,

I just had my timing belt changed as well as the distributer cap, spark plugs and spark plug cables onmy 98 Nissan Pathfinder. AFter the job was done, I noticed the power was lagging. SOmehow, I have to go higher revs to get the same power I used to get. Is the timing off on the engine due to the change or is something else that could be causing it? Could it be the injectors being dirty? Anyone have suggestions, please help.

Thanks.

G.

They installed the T-belt one tooth off on one or both cams. They probably didn't use the dealer T-belt which has the correct marks on it, the timing cover marks are wrong or at best confusing. It's REAL easy to get the pass side cam retarded a tooth if you don't use the dealer belt....
