About 8 months ago, I got a 1994 Nissan Altima GLE, 130,000miles. The problem only happened twice with very cold temperature. It started normally, the speed was 2000 rmp around and started to drop as the engine warmed up. But when I switch from "P" to "R" or "D" to get out of the parking place, the engine speed could go crazy, like 5000 rmp. I had no choices but turned it off.... It happed three times all in Jan. and Feb. I am in Ohio, and it was really cold. Since the weather warmed up, the problem never shows. It keeps running smoothly for around 5000 mile within the past warm 8 months. Now the winter is approaching, I am starting to worry about this problem....
I was told it may due to a kind of sensor, and nissan vehicle has problems under cold conditions...
Does anyone have any idea about it ??
Thanks!
