2000 Altima fog lights

I have a '00 Altima GXE that did not come with fog lights. I don't want to pay $175 for the ones the dealer can sell me, so I've been looking at some of the aftermarket versions. I would, however, like to install these aftermarket lights using the factory wiring/relay so I don't have to worry about running wire and trying to find a place to install a switch somewhere inside the cabin. Does anyone have detailed info for this install/mod? I did see a two wire harness that dangles down next to where the fog light ports are in the front trim and was wondering if this is the jackpot. I don't think this will be as simple as just plugging a relay into the socket and tapping into this harness because I tried jumpering the relay and tested for voltage at the harness but got nothing!


Does anyone have a good recommendation/connection for which lights might be the best (online)? I've already checked out jcwhitney, ebay, etc.

I have one of the 2003 3.5L Nissan Altimas which was an awesome car to begin with, but now I've done some performance tweaking with the engine, exhaust etc .. and now the car screams. I've taken it to the dragstrip a few times and I'm running better times than most of the naturally aspirated cars out there... including all of the old muscle cars. i have a 2000 altima se and i have a lot of problems with the fog lights.My advice is that you are better without. when it rains watter gets inside and burns the bulbs.It`s a pain to change them because are halogens and because there is not room to stick your hands to get to the soket also you can not use the watter protection grease for the same reason(if you touch the bulb with grease is gonna burn).Probably the safest way to replace the bulbs is to remove the bumper and i do not have time for something like this.Is up to your apreciation if is worthed.
