2k Max SE coils or somerhing else?

If your dealer is reasonably repuatble, they should do this. After all, these are paid for by Nissan. The dealer just passes the charges on up the line.

I think my dealer is reputable....but.... I was charged for the repair. This is after I opened a case with Nissan customer service (national). They maintain that the 3-year/36,000 mile (whichever comes first) rule applied.

I'd be interested in the details --- your dealer, miles you had on and how long after purchase --- of your case so that I can raise the issue again with Nissan and perhaps my dealer. Were you over 3 years with your car?

The 3/36K rule does apply... read your warranty coverage section of your owners' manual. I did for my 2k1. Coils are covered only under

I'd bet many dealers will replace coils though. And/or go to bat for customers in dealing with Nissan to get coverage for out-of warranty items. But this will be on a case-by-case basis and far more likely for for good, loyal, customers.

The local dealer replaced all mine on my '99 Maxima at about 50K. The service writer said he'd see what he could do when I complained and he called me and said they would pick up the entire cost.

It pays to be a bit forceful but not obnoxious about it I think.

I was under the 3/36 line. I don't know exactly what the mileage was, but I think it was around 20k. It would have been about 18 months after purchase (from that dealer - not that it should matter).

I had one go bad, and that was replaced under warranty. Then, it happened again, and the service manager said that he was just going to do the rest at once. There was never a question of whether they were going to pay for it.

The dealer was Bergstrom Nissan in Oshkosh, WI.

It sounds like you are outside of the 3/36. My guess is that you are then out of luck.
