3rd gen owners! RE: motor mounts

All 3rd gen owners- if you haven't checked your motor mounts lately, it's time that you do! My 90 GXE had a severly broken front motor mount and a cracked front transmission mount. The rubber in the motor mounts of cars this age will more than likely have age and stress cracks which will be evident when you put it in gear, hold the brake and slightly rev the engine. Your mounts are probably bad if you see the engine "jump" up more than 1/2" or so. These 2 front mounts take most of the twisting stress and are usually the first to go bad. You may also hear a mysterious clunking noise when accelerating out of a turn. Word to the wise, DON'T BUY THE AUTOZONE FRONT MOUNT!! The taiwan-made replacement doesn't fit as it's geometry is slightly "off" and you will not be able to set the bolts. The front tranny mount from AutoZone does fit, tho. The Nissan brand is US$82+ at Courtesy and the Autozone is US$59.
